From left to right is Ed Pearman , Eugene Pyell, and Patty Pyell. The other two owners (no photo available at this time) are Shaun and Terri Pearman.

ED - Ed began recycling in the mid 1960's. He started with just a dump truck traveling around the metro area to find scrap to be redeemed for money. His first big buisness that he hauled scrap for was Sunstrand Aviation. He soon after rented space at an old junk yard just blocks from Federal on W. 60th that had several cars on the large section he was renting. To make room he had to eleminate the cars so he could start his recycling company. The seats of the older cars were cushioned with cotton, so not only was he able to redeem the cars steel but he also sold the cotton. This is where 3 of Ed's 4 children came in. Beth, Patty, and Shaun often helping their dad on weekends and in the summer. One of their first jobs was to strip and recover the cotton found in these old cars. Shaun and Patty continued over the years helping their dad when they were not in school and of course they got their play time down at the salvage yard too. This may be the reason that after Ed built up his recycling buisness, He included a small playground and displayed billy goats for the kids as parents came to recycle. Another large buisness that Ed picked up scrap from was a well known amusment park that once sat off of 38th AVE. This was the old Elitches that has been in part of Denver for over 100 years ( now bought by, and known as six flags located near downtown ). Ed still has many parts of these old rides, such as the "logs" from the old splinter ride and from the roller coaster. Currently two of the old box cars (train ride) from kiddie land are displayed as flower boxes in front of Canland. Ed was born in 1930 and still today plays an active role in his current recycling buisness, along with his side job, taking out and recycling huge chillers and boilers that are used in cooling and heating large buildings. Ed often settling for the simple things in life such as driving old pickup that he paid $500 for and a house that just provides a livable place to eat and sleep, he'll tell ya that all his hard work and money isn't for him but his children and a person always there when someone is in need.

PATTY AND EUGENE - Patty is the only one of Ed's 4 children that has followed her dad's foot step's and took such an active role in the recycling buisness. This being her "9-5" job. Patty will be the most familiar face found at Canland, although most of her time spent is at her other company Action Recycling Center working in the office, she does routinely stop by Canland to run errands, make decesions, and occasionally works out in the warehouse. Patty's husband also has a daily role at Action Recycling Center when he is not Roofing or remodling a house. Gene and Patty have 3 children and 6 grand children, in which currently are not involved with the recycling companies. Patty's role in these companies include daily labor involement, balancing money and bank accounts, running errands, and communicating with buisness associates. Eugene's role includes metal processing and precious metal buying and handling.

SHAUN AND TERRI - Shaun took a different path then that of his dad's. Even though he has weekend involvement with the recycling buisnesses, Most of his time is spent as a lawyer. But does take involment in decision making and creating legal documents needed for agreements and advertising contracts. His wife Terri plays a larger role in the company as a data processor and conducting payroll. Another thing keeping this couple busy is raising their 5 children.
