Welcome- Hello and thank you for visiting our website. Canland is family owned and operated located in Denver, Colorado just north of Interstate 76 on the Federal Blvd. exit. Our goal at Canland is to serve our community of metro Denver by providing a convenient place to bring your recyclable aluminum cans and other metals(A few other items too!). We have been serving our community for over 30 years, so you can be sure to find helpful information, friendly service and of course a smile.
History- Recycling in the family was started by Ed Pearman just over 30 years ago. With his ongoing smile and a heart of gold Ed is well know in the recycling industry, in our community, and by many people in the metro area. It's very hard to go to a place with Ed and someone there NOT knowing him, and if you don't he'll be the first one with a friendly smile, say "hi", then introduce himself. Ed began his recycling center just a couple of blocks from where Canland is located now. After several years he sold his starting business once known as Westminster Iron and Metal, renamed as Action Recycling, to his daughter Patty and son Shaun and then began building Canland. A percentage of Canland was built from scrap that was bought over the scale at Action Recycling just before selling to his kids. This included plumbing, electrical, and other needed materials for the completion of Canland. Recently Ed sold a portion of Canland to his children Shaun and Patty.
Our family- Coming to Canland you can assure your visit welcoming, educational, and our honesty. Our family is Christian committed with lots of TLC. Many customers and all our employee's have more than just become our friends, they've took to us just like family something that is just our nature at Canland and in our family.
Recycling benefits- The recycling benefits are enormous. For one to say that there is enough people recycling or my part means little, your wrong. Did you know that just around half of all metals are recycled? That is a low number considering the benefits of recycling. Just the energy saved by the recycling of aluminum for one year instead of using raw aluminum(bauxite ore.) is enough energy to supply a city of a million people energy for more than 5 years, and current Steel recycling saves enough energy that is equivalent to electrically powering 1/5 of all homes in the US. That is just 2 resources and 2 benefits. Could you imagine if we recycled 100% of our metals? And even better all of our recyclable materials? For more facts click here.
What we buy- We currently are buying these more common metals; Aluminum cans - Other Aluminum - Copper - Brass - Insulated wire - Stainless (not all) - Magnesium - Nickel - Lead - Zinc - And some other non-ferrous metals. Because the value of these materials are based on the market value and that could change day to day you will have to call for current prices. For a detailed description of these metals and a better idea of what specific items we take Click here. For more Information on where to get other item's recycled Click here.
